Following an early breakfast, our expedition to Nubra Valley begins, located 140 km away from Leh. En route to Nubra Valley, we traverse the Khardungla Pass, standing at an elevation of 5602 meters, renowned as the highest motorable road in the world. Upon reaching Nubra, a visit to the Sand dunes at Hunder is on the agenda, where an optional camel ride awaits. If time allows, we’ll explore the Thunder and Diskit Monasteries. After a delightful breakfast, our journey takes us to the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and largest in the entire Nubra Valley. Founded by Changzeb Sherab Zangpo, this monastery is renowned for the “Dosmoche” festival, also known as the festival of the scapegoat, celebrated in February. Following the visit to Diskit Monastery, our next destination is Pangong Lake, situated at an altitude of 4350 meters and straddling the Indo-China border. The lake, surrounded by mountains, is distinguished by its ever-changing colors throughout the year or even within the day. Following breakfast, commence your return journey to Leh via the Khardungla Pass. Also, visit the Sindhu Ghat, a renowned riverbank near the Shey Monastery. Offering picturesque beauty, Sindhu Ghat hosts the Sindhu Darshan festival in June, attracting a significant number of tourists.
